The Bowdoin Chamber Choir

Where tradition and musical inquiry meet.

The Bowdoin Chamber Choir fosters student-centered experiences grounded in musical creativity and excellence through choral repertoire and expression. The work of the Choir reflects the vibrant scholarly inquiry by exploring and encouraging new connections between musical works, artistic disciplines, and ways of thinking about performance. The ensemble prepares concert projects in which historical practice intersects with novel frames for presenting choral works, drawing on a variety of traditions and perspectives to curate meaningful and musical articulations of our present time and place.

Following auditions, all those who are offered and accept membership in the Choir will be given an instructor override to register. Those individuals then have until the end of the add/drop period (the first week of classes) to register themselves. For now, if you are interested in membership you should keep the class time slot for Choir open (MW 4:30-5:30 and T 7-8:30) in your schedule pending the results of auditions.

One-half credit per semester toward graduation is earned by participation, and the VPA requirement is met by two semesters in Chamber Choir.
